Student Leaders Workshop by Frank Troyka 

 
For the 5th consecutive year, the Wind Bands Association of Singapore is pleased to present the Band Student Leadership Workshop by Frank Troyka. This well-received workshop is designed for band student leaders (current and upcoming Band Major, Student Committee, Sectional Leaders, etc) to learn the essential leadership skills. Previous clinicians include Dr Tim Lautzenheiser, Dr Richard Miles, Toshio Akiyama and Dr Lee Tian Tee.
 
Frank Troyka is Director of Bands and Coordinator of Fine Arts at Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas. A teacher of 26 years, ensembles under his director have been selected to perform at the Bands of America National Concert Band Festival, the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, and the Midwest Clinic.
 
Mr. Troyka also presents annual student leadership workshops across Texas and at various schools and universities throughout the United States. He is a frequent presenter at faculty development workshops for public school music teachers as well as a guest lecturer and “hands-on” instructor for both students and teachers.  He is the author of “Practical Leadership in Music,” a self-published workbook and reference tool used to prepare students to step into their roles as leaders in their high school bands. A member of the Texas Bandmasters Association and the Texas Music Educators Association, Frank has presented numerous clinics for directors and students at both of these organizations' conventions since 1982.
