Hence for organisations and individuals who made donations to the society, they were entitled double tax exemption from the Singapore government. WBAS remained a centralised IPC member of the National Arts Council in 2008.
As the society receives funds in the form of participation fee, it did not actively carry out fund raising projects. The Society sourced for sponsorship in-kind and in cash during the year for the various projects. The society received hotel accommodation sponsorship, cash sponsorship from overseas and local organizations. Total cash donation received in 2008 was $39,661.44 while those eligible for tax-deductible cash sponsorship amounts at $37,000. Most of the donations received in 2008 were for Singapore International Band Festival.
